Our Humble Beginnings
Preddeys Locksmiths was founded in 1961 by brothers Peter, Brian and John Preddey. While their successful locksmith service quickly grew and expanded throughout the Sutherland Shire and Southern Sydney suburbs, the Preddeys wanted to offer more. They knew and understood the importance of developing better physical security products, and consequently made changes that revolutionised the industry.
Ground-Breaking Products & Equipment
Brian designed and manufactured the world-renowned high-security locking system, “Bi-lock,” and more recently, “Galaxy” (manufactured by Australian Lock Company). Peter designed and manufactured industrial locking systems now mass-produced by ADI Security products. These systems, developed by our founders, are relied upon and used on a daily basis worldwide.

Growth and Expansion
In 1976, John Preddey was appointed as managing director while Peter and Brian Preddey continued their developments of improved lock systems. Under John’s management, the company continued to grow and expand. Many of the major clients that he secured are still satisfied Preddeys Locksmith customers to this day.
Our current managing director, Troy Brinkworth, has been with Preddeys Locksmiths since 1997. Prior to his current appointment, Troy held roles in the company as an on-road technician, service manager and general manager. Troy has been certified by the Master Locksmith Association of Australia (MLAA) at Master Locksmith level and has also currant SCEC approval from Security Construction and Equipment Committee (SCEC).
