Preddeys Locksmiths was founded over 45 years ago when Peter Preddey
(Sutherland District Locksmiths), Brian Preddey (A.D.I mobile Locksmiths) and
John Preddey (Automotive Business) joined together in 1961 to form the company.
Supporting three families in a new business was difficult, so John resigned and
returned to the automotive industry. In the mean time Peter and Brian forged
ahead with great success.
Preddeys Locksmiths knows and understands the importance of security with
Brian designing and manufacturing the world renowned high security locking
system “Bilock” whilst Peter designed and manufactured industrial locking
systems known as ADI products. These are used on a daily basis through out Australia.
In 1976 it was decided with Peter and Brian spending a lot of time
developing other sides of the business a manager was needed to develop Preddeys
Locksmiths to what is today. John Preddey was then convinced by Peter to rejoin
Preddeys and became managing director. Over the years John secured a lot of our
major clients, ANSTO, University of Western Sydney, Cronulla Sutherland Leagues
Club, Toyota Australia, Store Safe and the list goes on.
In 1999 John felt he would look in to retirement and decided it was time to
sell his share of the business. It was then Brian Cox purchased John Preddeys
share and became Managing Director. With Brian’s accounting skills he developed
a lot of the business practices we are currently using today. Implementing new procedures
as technology developments came onto the market.
